Session 1: Accurately Benchmarking Power & Energy

Abstract
The first half of this session will cover basics about power and energy, and existing tools and benchmarks that measure them for ML workloads. We will also cover technical details, common pitfalls, and best practices for measurement.
Then, in the second half, we will dive into a Colab notebook to demonstrate power and energy measurement using Zeus, an open-source tool for energy measurement and optimization. Together, we will benchmark image generation and understand the time and energy consumption of diffusion models.
